GUEST GUIDE RELAXED, LIVE & HUMANVOICE FM 103.9FRIDAYS AT 1PM

Your guide to joining the show

COME WITH
A STORY.
NOT A SCRIPT.

The quick answer

Will you send me the questions beforehand?

I don’t usually send a fixed list of questions. I like to keep the conversation open so it feels natural, not rehearsed. I’ll guide you through three simple parts, and you will always know where we are going next.

If there are particular points or questions you would like me to include, send them over or bring a short list. I’m very happy to weave them into our chat.

No polished answers needed. Curiosity, honesty and a useful story are plenty.

THREE PARTS.
ONE PROPER
CONVERSATION.

The show has three interview sections, with music and short breaks in between.

HOW DID YOU GET HERE?

Your career path, the turns you did not expect, and why you do what you do.

02 / RIGHT NOW

WHAT LIGHTS YOU UP?

Your current work, idea or passion—and the problem you are trying to solve.

03 / WHAT NEXT

HOW CAN PEOPLE HELP?

What listeners can try, learn, share, support or do after hearing your story.

BRING THE
USEFUL BITS.

You do not need to prepare a speech. These few things help me introduce you well and make the conversation useful for listeners.

THE PRACTICAL
QUESTIONS.

Everything that is useful to know before joining live or recording in advance.

Is the show live?

Yes. The Technology Show goes out live on Voice FM from 1pm to 2pm on Fridays. Your interview is split into three relaxed sections, with music and short breaks between them.

When should I arrive?

If you are joining live in the studio, please arrive at about 12:50pm. We get into the studio just before 1pm and record until 2pm.

Where is the studio?

The studio is on Graham Road, near the Royal South Hants Hospital. Full location and arrival details will be in your booking email.

Required before your interviewIs there anything I need to complete?

Yes. Please complete the Voice FM guest form before you arrive. It covers the station’s guest and insurance requirements.

What are the live-radio house rules?

Please put your phone fully on silent before entering the studio. There is no food or drink in the studio, although you can step out for water during a song. Please avoid swearing and subjects unsuitable for daytime radio—for example, mentioning alcohol, drugs, sex, politics or religion.

What if I am running late or need to change the date?

Use the reschedule or cancel link in your TidyCal email if plans change. If you are delayed on the day, text Natalie using the mobile number in your booking confirmation.

What happens after the broadcast?

The interview is edited to remove the music and adverts so we can publish a permanent link to the show in The Technology Show archive.

Ready when you are

LET’S MAKE
GOOD RADIO.

Always request a Friday show date first. If you cannot attend the studio, also book a separate Zoom pre-recording at least two days before it.
